SBI TT-buying rate lookup for Pound Sterling (GBP)

The State Bank of India publishes a daily FOREX CARD RATES card. Its TT (telegraphic transfer) buying rate for a given date is the rate Schedule FA figures are converted at, so a filing needs the rate for one specific date — not today's rate, and not an average. This tool reports what SBI published on the date you ask about, and links to that day's own card.

YYYY-MM-DD
Converted at that date’s rate only

Why a date matters

A filing converts each figure at its own date's rate

An Indian foreign-asset disclosure is not converted at a yearly average or at today’s rate. Each amount is converted at the telegraphic-transfer buying rate published for that amount’s own date. The figure this page reports is the TT BUY column of the State Bank of India’s daily FOREX CARD RATES card for the date you ask about — and where SBI published no card, the page says so rather than reaching for a nearby day.

Coverage

What we hold for Pound Sterling

For Pound Sterling (GBP) we hold SBI cards from 6 January 2020 to 10 July 2026 — SBI published on essentially every working day in this range, and the widest gap is 23 days. Dates outside that range are reported as outside coverage rather than estimated.

Before 2020 we hold 114 SBI cards recovered from archives, between 23 February 2017 and 18 November 2019. That series is matched on the exact date only: a recovered card is never carried to a nearby day.

For dates before 2020 with no recovered card, a European Central Bank reference rate is available from 13 January 2000 to 31 December 2019. That is a different kind of rate, shown separately and never as an SBI rate.

Attribution

Rates are published by the State Bank of India. The machine-readable series is built from the sahilgupta/sbi-fx-ratekeeper dataset (MIT), which parses SBI's own daily cards; every result here links to the card it came from.

The coverage above was evaluated on 2026-07-10. Every currency we cover is listed on the hub, each with its own coverage window.

Scope

What this page does, and what it does not

This is published-rate information, not tax advice. It reports what the source published and shows the arithmetic; whether a particular rate applies to a particular figure is a question for your return and your adviser.

If you are converting a whole year of them

GetScheduleFA prepares the Schedule FA workpaper from a broker’s own statements: one Table A3 row per purchase lot, Table A2 for the custodial account, and every figure converted at the SBI TT-buying rate published for its own date. It is a paid, reviewed service; this lookup is free and needs no account.
